XYZ Integrated Architecture : Console et chaise 60°

Fondée en Géorgie, l’agence d’architecture et de design XYZ Integrated Architecture a dessiné un concept de console et de chaise à 60°. Une démarche qui mêle au design une approche résolument artistique. En inclinant de 60 degrés ces pièces de mobilier traditionnelles, XYZ cherche à questionner sur le rapport de toutes choses à l’effet de la gravité.

Fonctionnelles et surprenantes ces créations semble à la limite de l’effondrement et brouille nos perceptions. En mettant en œuvre des matériaux traditionnels et nobles, les membres de l’agence XYZ renforcent encore l’originalité de leurs créations.

Sur ce projet, l’agence XYZ Integrated Architecture précise :

"We often forget that gravity is one of the major challenges design faces. Gravity is essentially the kind of obstacle that cannot be circumvented, even on the moon. It isthis extreme sense of gravity that the 60 series embodies.
The series is created using the traditional techniques of smoothing, sawing, gluing, and soldering. The materials are traditional, too: wood, metal, paint. It is the shape that gives them new meaning. The support parts of the presented works slope at an angle of 60° to the horizontal – and this simple fact puts an end to the familiar mode of existence for tables and chairs; we are tricked into believing that these artifacts are teetering on the brink of possibility, and the force of gravity will soon make them explode, collapse and fall apart.
The 60 series is a rather peculiar sight. It is intended for the people who love challenges and adrenaline rushes – the people living in the fast lane."
